About Us
Family-owned and operated since 1983

Our Story
We are a family-owned campground located in the heart of Liberty, Indiana, just a short drive from Quakertown State Recreation Area and Whitewater Memorial State Park. Our peaceful setting offers 61 campsites, each equipped with electric, well water and holding tank sewage disposal, making it a comfortable and convenient destination for campers seeking a close-to-nature experience.
Platt’s Lakeview Campground has been a special place since 1983, when it was purchased by David and Kathy Platt. The couple was looking for more than just a piece of land - they were searching for a place where their children could enjoy the outdoors, grow up surrounded by nature, and create meaningful family memories. Over time, their dream blossomed into a thriving campground where three generations of the Platt family have gathered to enjoy summer days full of fishing, swimming, and the simple joys of being together.
As the family grew, so did the traditions. The Platt grandchildren and great-grandchildren spent countless hours exploring the woods, catching fish at nearby lakes, and learning valuable life lessons from their time outdoors; lessons in hard work, cooperation, and appreciation for the little things. These early memories laid the foundation for the strong, supportive values that still define the campground today.
Now, decades later, those same traditions are being shared with new families who come to Platt’s Lakeview Campground for the same reasons. Our guests often tell us how much they value the chance to unplug from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Parents bring their children to experience the wonder of nature, hiking the nearby trails, watching wildlife, roasting marshmallows under the stars, and simply being present with one another. Without the distractions of screens and busy schedules, families reconnect and rediscover the simple pleasures of spending quality time together.
Platt’s Lakeview Campground continues to be a place where past meets present, where lifelong memories are made, and where both new and returning campers find a sense of peace, purpose, and belonging. We’re honored to share this special piece of Indiana with everyone who visits, and we look forward to welcoming future generations to experience the magic that first brought the Platt family here so many years ago.
